As president of Great Clips, Inc., Steve concentrates on growing the brand by helping franchisees achieve their dreams as independent business owners. He appreciates the power of the franchise business model, using data, technology, and customer service to drive results.
Steve joined Great Clips in May 2008 as Vice President of Operations, but it wasn’t the first time he had worked for the company. After a few years as a Great Clips franchisee with his wife Deb, Steve joined the corporate team at Great Clips in 1993. He left the brand in 2002 to become the president of FranChoice Inc., where he was responsible for day-to-day management and leadership of the largest franchise broker/candidate referral network. Following his time at FranChoice, Steve was president at Rapid Refill and led its growth to the No. 2 franchise player in the ink and toner replacement category.
Upon his return to Great Clips, Steve was promoted multiple times to senior leadership positions, including COO and then President of Great Clips. In January 2018, Steve will become CEO when Rhoda Olsen transitions to Vice Chair of the Great Clips board of directors.
Steve holds an MBA from the University of Notre Dame. His favorite pastimes are playing golf and rooting for the Green Bay Packers. One of his favorite charities is Children's Minnesota, a pediatric health system that champions the health needs of children and families.
