World’s largest hair salon brand expands industry lead
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (August 29, 2016) – Great Clips, the world’s largest hair salon brand, solidified its position as the global leader and international icon in the haircare industry with the opening of its 4,000th franchise. The 4,000th Great Clips hair salon, located inside the Meijer store in Flat Rock, Michigan, just south of Detroit, is the latest addition to a franchise network that stretches throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Great Clips is a successful franchise system with every one of its 4,000 salons independently owned and operated. The newest salon is owned by Brian and Christie Czopek who are among the 1,200 dedicated franchisees in 180 markets across North America.

In 2011, the company was the first in the industry to launch Online Check-In which allows customers to check in from their smartphone or computer, saving them wait time at the salon. Today, 30 percent of haircuts at Great Clips begin with the customer using Online Check-In and the Great Clips app has been downloaded 5 million times.
In 2013, Great Clips was the first in the haircare industry to introduce Clip Notes®, digital tracking of each customer’s haircut preferences, which are referenced at each visit to ensure customers get the haircut they want.
