Shoulder-Length Bob with Face Framing Haircut

Classic Graceful Sleek

The shoulder-length bob with face framing is typically cut so the hair falls above, at, or just below the shoulder level. Then, starting just below the chin, mid-length layers are blended along the edges of the hair in a way that gently frames the face. It is a versatile haircut that can be styled in various ways.

Easy

Towel dry hair. Using a blow dryer and flat brush, slowly brush hair from the root toward the end while drying, being sure to follow the brush with the hair dryer as you do. Then, using a round brush and starting just below the chin, blow dry the front sides of the hair down and toward the face. When dry, set with hairspray to tame flyaways and keep hair in place.

Medium
20 minutes

Towel dry hair. Apply a volumizing product, like a mousse. Dry hair completely, lifting hair at the roots to create volume (or flipping hair over and blow drying upside down). Once hair is dry, separate a small section of hair. Starting midway down the section, wrap hair around a large-barreled curling iron. Continue to do this, section by section, until you have curled all of the hair. Gently comb through curls with fingers or a brush, working the front sides of the hair toward the face as you do. Finish with gel or hairspray.

What to tell your stylist

Love this haircut? Here's what to tell your stylist so you can get this look.

“I’d like a shoulder-length bob. I’d like the bottom of the hair to be even all the way around. Then I'd like to add face-framing layers that start at my chin and blend in the bottom of the cut.

If you're uncertain about the ideal length to keep or how the face-framing layers should be styled, don't hesitate to consult with your stylist. Discuss how different layering techniques, such as shorter layers around the face or longer, sweeping layers that blend into the length, can accentuate your child's facial features. Our skilled stylists can advise on the best approaches based on your child's face shape, hair texture, and overall style preferences, ensuring the layers enhance their natural beauty and add a playful yet sophisticated dimension to the haircut.
