Donate Your Hair with Wigs for Kids
Helping children look themselves and live their lives
Wigs for Kids is a nonprofit hair donation organization that helps children and young adults dealing with hair loss by making high-quality hair pieces from donated hair. Unlike other hair donation programs, the wigs created by Wigs for Kids are designed specifically to withstand vigorous activities that kids participate in every day—from gymnastics to jumping jacks, swimming to dancing.
You can help a child look and feel their best by getting your hair cut at a participating Great Clips salon and then donating your hair to Wigs for Kids. The stylist who cuts your hair will give you the information needed to make this as easy as possible. By donating your hair, you can give children who need it a real boost in confidence and self-esteem. And, with your donation, your haircut will be free at participating Great Clips salons!
Hair Donation Requirements
For details about minimum hair length and other donation requirements, visit wigsforkids.org. To donate, please complete the online donation form prior to visiting the salon. At the salon, you will receive a paper donation form and instructions. Simply include your online form ID number on the paper form and mail your donation to Wigs for Kids.
Wigs for Kids cannot accept hair that has been chemically processed (perms, color treated, highlighted, etc.) because it will not withstand the chemical processing to sanitize the hair. Natural color or highlights that wash out are acceptable. Gray hair is accepted, but cornrows are not.
