Operation: Healing Heroes

Documenting the lives of military veterans

Operation Healing Heroes Foundation (nonprofit) - shares the stories of veterans from all eras of war to viewers across the United States and Canada. Professional angler Jay Garstecki takes veterans into the Great Outdoors and documents their history and stories.

The idea for the documentary television show came after five years of taking veterans fishing through their non-profit Take a Vet Fishing, NFP. We understood the power and healing effects of fishing (and other outdoor activities) could have on post-traumatic stress (PTS) and started the show to preserve and highlight the stories of veterans.

The show has since "evolved" into MORE than just a documentary. In addition, the nonprofit now provides the financial means for veterans to receive TREATMENT for their PTS symptoms. Since it's inception in 2015, the Foundation has provided financial support to over 100 veterans seeking assistance with PTS.

The show has now documented the lives of almost 60 veterans over the course of seven seasons on Discovery Channel, NBC Sports, Amazon Prime and several other streaming and television networks. Each episode highlights a different veteran and additional non-profit organizations that help veterans with PTSD.
At Great Clips we're proud to sponsor and financially support Operation Healing Heroes Foundation to help ensure veterans can continue sharing their stories, and get the help and treatment they DESERVE.
