A part of the Great Clips Racing family, Dale Earnhardt Jr. was voted NASCAR's most popular driver AGAIN, breaking a long-held record. Earnhardt won the NASCAR NMPA Most Popular Driver Award for the 11th straight year, breaking a tie with Bill Elliott for the most consecutive years as winner of the annual fan vote. (Elliott is still the all-time record-holder with 16 Most Popular Driver wins.) Long-time Great Clips driver Kasey Kahne came in second in the fan vote with his Hendrick Motorsports teammate, Jeff Gordon, coming in third. Earnhardt drove the No. 88 Great Clips Chevrolet in the NASCAR Nationwide Series event last July at Chicagoland Speedway.
Kahne is a long-time representative for the Great Clips brand, dating back to his rookie season in the NASCAR ranks. He captured our first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) victory last season at the famed Bristol motor Speedway. Great Clips' relationship with Kahne continues into 2014 with as primary sponsor of the driver’s No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet in ten NSCS races next season.
