Great Clips Extends Sponsorship with Iowa Speedway

MINNEAPOLIS, April 12, 2010—Great Clips, the world’s largest hair salon brand with more than 2,800 locations in the United States and Canada, has renewed and extended the company’s existing promotional sponsorship agreement with Iowa Speedway for the 2010 racing season.

The new agreement maintains Great Clips’ entitlement rights for the track’s Hospitality Village, as well as continuing their “official partnership” status, which will include Great Clips advertising on all Iowa Speedway event tickets and display space during the track’s major events.
“Since Great Clips has multiple locations in the upper Midwest, and can help us promote our major event weekends in key markets, they are a really important partner for Iowa Speedway,” said Karen Owen, sales manager for Iowa Speedway.  “Great Clips’ in-store and in-market promotions in Omaha and Minneapolis, as well as throughout Iowa, adds significant value to our presence in those markets.”

Two new Great Clips promotions for 2010 involve Iowa Speedway’s most significant events – the Iowa Corn Indy 250 on Sunday, June 20, the Lucas Oil 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race on Sunday, July 11, and the US Cellular 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series event on Saturday, July 31.  The first promotion, titled “Great Clips Lucky Row”, will award free haircut coupons to one selected row of patrons in the grandstands during the first caution flag period of each of the ‘Big 3’ Iowa Speedway races.

The second new 2010 promotion, called “Everybody Wins When # 38 Wins”, is something of a gamble for Great Clips but is certain to generate a lot of discussion and speculation.  If the Great Clips sponsored #38 Toyota Camry, currently driven by NASCAR veteran Jason Leffler, wins the US Cellular 250 on July 31, literally everybody attending the race may redeem their event ticket for a haircut anytime up to Aug. 7, 2010 at any Great Clips location.

Great Clips has a long tradition in racing, including the honor of the longest running primary sponsor in the NASCAR Nationwide series.

“So many of our customers love racing and we share that excitement! We are proud to support the racing spirit by adding a new element of fun with some great giveaways at Iowa Speedway,” said Terri Miller, vice president of marketing at Great Clips.
